Sam Grimes

Sam is an experienced land and measured building surveyor with over 11 years in the industry. Throughout this time, he has worked for both independent land surveying firms and a large multi-discipline design consultancy, the latter giving him direct insight into how accurate survey data feeds into the design processes of a project, and how additional value can be provided to the client and project teams.

Sam’s skillset covers topographical, measured building, 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping, 3D Revit modelling, setting out, monitoring, PAS128 Utility and CCTV drainage surveys.

A particular standout project was laser scanning the Clogau Gold Mine in North Wales, offering an exclusive insight into a site of historical importance, and producing a detailed 3D point cloud to enable future exploration.

More typical projects have included office buildings, schools, universities, retail units, airports, urban environments, manufacturing facilities, greenfield sites, and many more.

In recent years, Sam’s role has moved into managerial and business development duties, growing survey teams from the ground up, building client relationships, and raising awareness of surveying services within the region.
