Tate Modern Setting out Brickwork

The new Tate Modern – precision and style

June 17th 2016 saw the opening of the much acclaimed Tate Modern Extension. Situated on the south side of the former Bankside power station, the new building features a 64.5 metre 10 storey ‘twisting’ tower.

Appointed by Swift Brickwork, Warner Surveys were commissioned to check the existing survey control network and to set out the brickwork cladding system.

An extensive undertaking, the survey covered 60,000 surveyed points. The brickwork cladding support brackets were set out to a tolerance of +/-2mm.

The result is a stunning building which has been widely commended for its striking architecture. Warner Surveys is pleased to have been involved with this keynote project.
